Amelia Hundley To Compete at Stuttgart

In the wake of Nia Dennis's injury,  her teammate, Amelia Hundley has been nominated to take her place at the Stuttgart World Cup after the conclusion of this month's training camp.

Nia was originally slated to compete for team USA in Stuttgart, however, last week, she injured her Achillies tendon while training on floor, effectively ending Nia's Olympic bid.  But, this opened the door for Amelia, who was added to this year's national team following her assignment.  Amelia has been on the US national team for many years, first as a junior and in 2014, she became a senior. In 2015, Amelia helped the US team to a silver medal at the Pan American Games over the summer. Individually, she also placed 4th in the all-around, and took home a silver medal on floor and a bronze on bars.

The Stuttgart World Cup will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, March 19-20 at the Porsche Arena.  Also competing at Stuttgart, Russia's Seda Tutkhalyan, Ellie Downie of Great Britain, Elisabeth Seitz of Germany and Isabella Onyshko of Canada. Danell Leyva will be there representing the dudes of team USA. Also making an appearance on the men's side, Fabian Hambuechen, he one half of the Epke Zonderland - Hambuechen grymnastics bromace.
