The Latest from Team USA in Glasgow

The latest gossip from the Gymternet is that Team USA is possibly only having three all-arounders compete in qualifications.

This news comes from Maggie Nichols, who confirmed via her ask.fm account that she will not be competing bars in qualifications and will also NOT be doing all-around.

So now, the question is, will Aly, Gabby and Simone only be competing in the all-around? Does this mean Brenna Dowell will be competing bars after all? OR... is there perhaps a fourth all-arounder who is yet un-named? We (the gymternet at large) have been assuming that Maggie, Aly, Gabby and Simone will do all-around, leaving Brenna out of the mix on bars.

Now, it appears that both Brenna and Madison will both compete bars. Both have great scoring potential on bars, so it's going to be interesting to see who will make the bars final between those two and Gabby Douglas; my money is on Brenna and Madison.

Qualifications start on Friday, at 4:15 a.m. eastern time if you're in the States (9:50 a.m Scotland time if I'm reading the website correctly). Team USA is in Subdivision 10, rotating the Netherlands, starting at 11:30 eastern time.
