On this installment of favorite routines, I'm going back to a time when the entire Fierce Five team wasn't even born yet. Hold on to your hats and grab your Michael Jackson sparkly gloves, we're going back to 1985.
I saw this clip on another page just today and I was inspired to go back to 1985 for this blog edition. For the record, I don't really remember that much of 1985, I was three (do the math!).
Oksana Omelianchik was a soviet gymnast and was 15 at the time was the winner for the balance beam final at the European championships. You can certainly see why. She performs with perfect artistry on the beam. Every element is connected flawlessly and confidently. This is the definition of artistry on the beam.
