ABC Confirms Aly Raisman to Dancing With the Stars Cast

Today on ABC's Good Morning America, the cast of the spring 2013 season of Dancing With the Stars was announced and London Team Captain and gold medalist Aly Raisman was confirmed as part of the cast. Which dancing professional is she dancing with?

Too bad I didn't put any wagers on this one, because I totally would have won the bet. Aly is paired with two-time DWTS champion, Mark Ballas. Aly is the second gymnast to be named to the cast. The first was Shawn Johnson in the spring of 2009, just months after the Beijing Olympics. Aly and Shawn have another thing in common, their partner. Shawn won the prize dancing to the top with Mark. Reason tells me, they're going for that ridiculously gaudy mirror ball trophy.

How do you think that would look in Aly's trophy case with her gold medals from London

Aly joins a uh, colorful cast, the other competitors include actor/comedian Andy Dick, country singers Wynona Judd and Kellie Pickler of American Idol fame, skater Dorothy Hamill, actress Zendaya Coleman, Baltimore Raven's player, Jacoby Jones, actor D.L Hughley, soap star Ingo Rademacher, politician Victor Ortiz, and reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump.

Well, ABC has given me a reason to tune in on Monday nights, to root for Aly! I've decided that during the duration of the show, I will be updating every week on Aly's journey on the show. (Side note, I wonder if Aly's parents will be present doing their now infamous sideline routine.) DWTS premiers season 16 on March 28 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC. I don't know what time it comes on where you are, so check your listings.

Later kids.
